The VLTOR A5 buffer system combines the reliability and consistency of the longer rifle length systems with the modularity of the shorter carbine length systems.
This system adds extra mass and an internal biasing spring, which helps it overcome many of the issues that carbine length buffers suffer from and only adds 3/4″ to the buffer tube. The extra mass and rifle length spring, increases lock time and reduces the amount of spring tension so you may notice a smoother cycle and reduced recoil.
One of the biggest advantages of the system is that you can use the same spring and buffer for a wider range of barrel combinations and often eliminates the need to install a heavier buffer when running a suppressor.
VLTOR A5 buffers are designed to work with the complete VLTOR A5 buffer system. The buffers are slightly longer than the traditional M4 buffers and come in various weights to fit your configuration. The A5H2 is the standard weight and will cover the majority of configurations, however other buffer weights are available for shorter or longer barrel lengths. If you are unsure of which weight to choose, contact us for help making the best choice for your gun.Â
